MS SQL Server

For Isah 4.5.2, we have switched from Sybase ASE to Microsoft SQL Server. The MS SQL Server database enables you to make the most of Isah.

MS SQL Server uses 64-bit technology, which means that more memory can be allocated to the database. Having more memory is useful when you are using large databases, when there are many users using the database, or when memory-intensive operations are performed.

Because SQL Server is a Microsoft product, it is easier to integrate with other Microsoft products, such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. These applications provide direct access to MS SQL Server without the need for additional drivers or ODBC.

For developers, documents are available detailing the differences between Sybase and MS SQL Server, and describing the installation and configuration of MS SQL Server.
