Currency codes are used to indicate the currency you are using, for example in the financial data of customers and suppliers on documents such as offers and orders. Along with the currency code, you can also specify the exchange rate. This will allow sums in foreign currencies to be converted into your operating currency, for example dollar or euro.
Note: In order to create order confirmations, invoices, purchase orders, etcetera, the euro currency code must have been registered as a minimum.
Tip: The Basic data form in the General Settings module has two currency settings: the Currency field and the Exchange table currency field. In the Currency field, specify the currency in which sums without currency code are expressed. Examples of this include function group rates and actual costing sums. This currency is usually set to 'EUR' (euro). In the Exchange table currency field, specify the currency to which the exchange rate applies. If your company is based in a euro country, the Exchange table currency field must be set to 'EUR' (euro).
Tip: In the General Settings module, you can specify a default value for this field that applies to all customers and/or suppliers. This value will then be filled in automatically when a new customer or supplier is added. You can modify the default value of the field at any time if you want to use another value for a particular customer or supplier.
