The Credit information form lists a customer's credit details. This allows you to check the credit situation for each customer, and whether his credit limit has been exceeded. A customer will have exceeded his credit limit if the outstanding order sum, increased by the outstanding balance, exceeds the credit limit sum.
Fields
This field shows the credit limit sum as specified for this customer in the Credit limit field on the Financial tab of the Customers form.
This field shows the sum of open items for the customer. This sum is usually retrieved from your financial application. The sum of open items is calculated as follows:
Sales invoices (imported into your financial application) - Payments (processed in your financial application)
The resulting customer balance is exported from your financial application, and then imported into Isah.
This field shows the sum that is the result of:
All outstanding sales order lines for the customer - Sums already invoiced for the relevant sales lines
Note: The value of the 'Invoiced' field includes periodic invoices, if any.
This field shows the outstanding balance. It is calculated as follows:
Balance outstanding = Credit limit - (Open items + Current orders)
This balance is the sum subject to the credit limit check.
This shows the credit limit check setting for this customer. You can find these fields on the Financial tab of the Customers form.
Use the Credit limit check functionality to check a debtor's financial position. Different checks can be performed at different times.
Sales offer/order, Sales line with 'Offer' status, Sales lines with 'Order' status
If you want a credit limit check to be performed when a sales offer or order is entered, when sales lines with an 'Offer' status are entered, or when sales lines with an 'Order' status are entered, you can choose from the following settings:
Tip: The Customer tab on the Default values form allows you to specify a default value for this field that will apply to all customers. This value will be filled in automatically when a new customer is added. You can modify the default value at any time if another value should be used for a particular customer.
Note: The Sales orders permission functionality enables you to prevent orders being entered for a particular customer if the customer does not meet the applicable requirements. This results in the customer being blacklisted. This security feature relates to the customer of an order; the credit limit check relates to the debtor of the order.
When creating shipping notes
When creating shipping notes, you can choose from two settings:
Tip: The Customer tab on the Default values form allows you to specify a default value for this field that will apply to all customers. This value will be filled in automatically when a new customer is added. You can modify the default value at any time if another value should be used for a particular customer.
Tip: To ignore the credit limit for a shipment and ship anyway, open the Shipping module, and select the sales order. Click the Shipping schedule button, and select the shipping line. Refer to the Specification tab for more information about credit limit overruns. Then open the Edit menu and select Cancel credit limit check. Now no credit limit check will be performed. This way, a shipping note can always be created.
