Gantt chart settings

Use the Gantt chart settings form to configure the display of the projects in the Gantt chart.

Colors, shapes and patterns allow you to easily distinguish the different project components in the Gantt chart, and to check the progress of the projects at one glance. You can set various properties of the project components, including the shape, shading and color, for individual project line type and plan type combinations.

To check the progress, you can set the estimated progress and the calculated progress based on linked order information. It is possible to display both at the same time in the Gantt chart.

The settings you enter on this form apply to all records and therefore to all users. This ensures that the Gantt chart format is the same for everyone.

Milestones can be Open or Closed. A closed milestone has a fixed end date, so that it is clear that the milestone must be reached on a particular date. An open milestone has an open end date, which means that the milestone depends on the progress of the project line with which the milestone has a successor relationship. For example, if a milestone marks the end of a phase, the milestone will move up in time if the phase takes longer than expected. You can change the shape of open milestones in the Gantt chart.
