The standard capacity to be specified for an operation in the capacity group settings functions as an aid when calculating the cycle time of the operations in the production files. You are not required to specify a standard capacity for capacity groups; you can also specify the capacity or cycle time in the production files.
Note: The standard capacity can be specified in 'Minutes per piece' or in 'Quantities per hour'. The unit displayed on your screen depends on the setting in the Basic data form, Settings tab, Standard capacity unit field.
Note: Please think carefully before changing the standard capacity unit in the General Settings module. Changing the unit has far-reaching consequences for the calculations already present in Isah.
Capacity group settings
In the capacity group settings, you can specify a standard capacity (such as 10 pieces per hour, or 5 minutes per piece), as well as machine setup and adjustment times. The labor cycle time and the setup/adjustment times are informational, and are not used in the calculation of the lead time.
If, in the capacity group settings, you specify that the standard capacity should always be used in the calculations, the lead time in part calculations and production files will be calculated based on the standard capacity. It is possible to specify a different standard in the production calculation, but even then the cycle time will always be calculated based on the 'Operation quantity' and the standard.
If, in the capacity group settings, you specify that the standard capacity is not mandatory, you can specify a cycle time in the part and production calculation, or choose to use the standard after all.
