Create engineering item revision

Run the Create engineering item revision process to create a new engineering item revision for the engineering item you selected on the Engineering items form. The last revision of the engineering item will be used. Once the process has run, the revision that was used as the basis will be assigned the 'Released, but not the last revision' status. The new revision is given the 'Released' status.

In principle, the information copied to the new revision includes the engineering BOM, the links to the part or production file, and the corresponding calculations. For this, the following conditions must be true:

• For the part:
  • It is not obsolete.
  • The revision has not been released.
  • The calculation is not locked.
• For the production file:
  • The status is within the status range to which you have rights.
  • It is not complete.
  • The production file has a status type other than 'History'.
• For the production calculation:
  • It has not been authorized.
  • It is not complete.

The component is copied only if these conditions are true. If a component has not been copied, you can check the log for the reason.
