The Engineering, where used form lists the applications of the engineering item revision selected on the Engineering items form. The Engineering BOM tab shows the BOM in which the engineering item revision occurs. The other tabs show the items to which the revision is linked, such as a part and possibly a production file.
Examples
Let's assume the engineer discovers a mistake and wants to replace a component. He checks the Engineering BOM tab to see in which production file the component occurs, and informs the planner that a different component has to be used in the production process.
The engineer knows that a component has been used before, and checks the Engineering BOM tab to see how it was fitted, so that he knows how he can apply the component.
To see whether an engineering item can be deleted, the engineer checks what the engineering item is linked to.
