Projects and project components may consist of multiple activities, which are numbered automatically. Use the Increment activity numbers by field to specify the step size to be used. For example, enter '5' if you want activity numbers to always be multiples of five. The activities will then be numbered as follows: 5, 10, 15, 20, etcetera. If you expect to add many activities later, you are recommended to choose a high incrementation value.

When entering an activity, you can still change the number that has been assigned automatically.
