Part issues

Use the Part issues form to register the parts you want to issue. The parts could be parts you are issuing from stock, or parts ordered to order which you are issuing after you have purchased them. Parts can be issued:

• For use in a production order
• For unplanned use in a production order - the production order will not yet contain a calculation line for the part you want to issue
• To a cost center

It is also possible to return remainders to stock by recording a negative stock issue.

To register multiple issues at the same time, for example issues for the same sales order, sales offer, or production order, you can also have the issue lines created automatically. In that case, you will not have to manually create an issue line for each issue.

When issuing parts, the procedure to be followed depends on whether the goods were purchased to order or for stock purposes:

• For parts ordered for stock purposes, you are required to register the issue, because the registration will update the (reserved) stock. The issue can also take place using the backflushing process, however. Issue lines cannot be processed if the selected stock line or WIP line is blocked for issues and shipments.
• For parts ordered to order, you are not required to register their issue. It does have advantages to do so, however, as registration results in the quantities being deducted. This enables you to review efficiency differences in the actual costing phase.

Once you have registered the issue lines, you process the lines. Any postings required will not be made until the issue lines have been processed.

Note: Issues need to be authorized before they can be processed. You can authorize an issue line by entering an issue date and advancing the processing status to 'Ready for processing'.
