Use the Modify plan data process to mass-change plan details. This could be useful if, for example, you want to change the planning type of multiple capacity groups in existing production calculations from 'Infinite capacity' to 'Finite capacity'.
With the exception of two fields, all fields that can be changed with this process can be found in the production calculation for operations on the Planning tab. The other two fields (Status and Complete) are found in the production calculation for operations on the General tab.
Fields
If you choose 'Sales offer/order' or 'Production file/order', the Selection criteria fields will change. Use these fields to specify your chosen selection.
If you choose 'All operations', under Selection criteria, specify the production statuses, capacity groups and/or operation statuses for which you want to run the process. If you leave any or all three of the selection criteria fields empty, all items matching this criterion will be selected. Leaving all fields empty therefore means that all items will be changed.
This field shows the number of hours expected to be required to perform the operation. By default, this time is calculated on the basis of the operation time:
Plan time = PR -/- AC
Where required, another value can be entered for the plan time. If you are planning by labor time, only the planned labor time can be filled in. If you are planning by machine time, this will be the planned machine time.
The minimum lead time indicates the minimum number of days to be scheduled for an operation, regardless of the calculated lead time.
This check box is only relevant when you are scheduling based on infinite capacity. Set the field value to '0' if you do not want this field to control the process.
If a production file has a fixed lead time greater than 0, the planning process always uses the fixed lead time.
This check box is only relevant when you are scheduling based on infinite capacity. Set the field value to '0' if you do not want this field to control the process.
The planning process mainly consists of scheduling lead times of operations. Setup, adjustment, and operation times, which are used to calculate the lead time, can be specified for employees and for machines. Use the Based on field to specify whether you want the scheduling to take place based on labor times or machine times.
In the type settings, specify whether you want to plan this capacity group based on an infinite capacity or a finite capacity.
Fill in a daily capacity to restrict the available capacity specified for the capacity group (see Calculated capacity). When scheduling a capacity group with multiple employees or machines, you can use the To plan per day field to specify that not all capacity can or may be used for one operation. For example, if there are three machines with a capacity of 8 hours, enter "8 hours" in the To plan per day field. Instead of 24 hours (3*8 hours), only 8 hours per day will now be planned for the operation.
When scheduling operations based on finite capacity, you can specify how the available time must be filled:
A limitation enables you to restrict the options for the start or end date of a production file or an operation. For instance, if you select 'Must start on' and specify a date, you can make sure that the production file or operation will start on that date. It is not possible to specify detailed restrictions for Modify plan data, but if a restriction is present, you can choose to leave it unchanged or to deselect it.
You can assign the following priorities:
|
Production files are scheduled based on the priorities you have assigned to customers on the Customers form (in the Customers module). |
|
Production files are scheduled based on the priorities you have assigned to sales orders on the Specification tab of the Sales orders form (in the Sales module). |
|
The shipping date in the sales line (Sales module, Sales orders form, Lines button) for which the production file will be used, determines how the production files are scheduled. |
|
The status in the sales line (Sales module, Sales orders form, Lines button) for which the production file will be used, determines how the production files are scheduled. |
|
Production files are scheduled based on their end date (production modules, Production files form, Planning tab). |
|
Production files are scheduled based on the priority set in the production file (production modules, Production files form, Planning tab). |
|
Production files are scheduled based on the status set in the production file (production modules, Production files form, General tab). |
The operation status indicates the phase the operation line is in, for example 'Started' or 'Waiting for material'.
If no more operations are required for an operation line, you confirm the line as complete. The line will then be removed from the planning.
