Create A New Alias
  1. On the Alias menu, click New.
  2. In the Alias Name box, type the name of the database you want to connect to, e.g. 'ProductionDB', and click OK. The name that you specify in this field will be displayed in the Isah login screen. It is recommended that you use clear and logical names such as 'IsahDemo', 'ProductionDB', 'TestDatabase' etc.
  3. Specify the database you want to connect to and the name of the server that contains this database. These are required fields.
  4. If necessary, change the default settings in the right-hand pane.
  5. Save your changes.
  6. Open the Tools menu and choose Test Alias to check the database alias is working correctly and allows you to connect to the database concerned.

Tip: If you need to create a new alias that closely resembles an already exisiting alias, select the existing alias and select Save As on the File menu. Rename the alias and customize the database alias by following the steps mentioned above.
