The life of an engineering item may consist of various phases, such as 'New', 'Under development', 'Work preparation' and 'Released for production'. The Engineering item statuses form allows you to define your own statuses. The use of engineering items statuses is not required.
Use the Synchronize check box to configure whether the engineering item is to be synchronized: only engineering items with a status for which the Synchronize check box is selected are transferred to production. If you leave the Synchronize check box empty for the engineering item status 'New', you can avoid synchronization of engineering items that are not ready for production and that have the status 'New'. For the status 'Released for production', it is actually advisable to select the Synchronize check box, as engineering items with this status can be transferred to production.
Use the Update statuses process to change the engineering item status of multiple engineering items at the same time.
