  1. Click the header of the column you want to sort on.

The Sorted ascending icon in the column header indicates an ascending sort order.

Descending sort order

The Sorted descending icon in the column header indicates a descending sort order.

Note: In order to be able to use all functions, Advanced options by preset must be enabled.

Sorting within a sort

It is possible to sort data that have already been sorted. On the Sales lines form, for instance, you can first sort the sales orders, then the sales lines, and lastly the sublines (Customers module, Customers form, Go to menu, Sales lines).

  1. Hold down the SHIFT key and click the header of the column you want to sort on within an existing sort.
  2. Repeat this step for each sort you want to make within an existing sort.

The Sorted ascending and Sorted descending icons in the column header indicate an ascending sort order.

Reverting the sort order

You can change the sort order from ascending to descending, and vice versa.

To change the sort order of one column:

  1. Click the column header. If you are sorting within a sorting, hold down the SHIFT key.

To change the sort order for all columns the data have been sorted by:

  1. Open the View menu, and then select Reverse list sorting.

Canceling the sorting action

To cancel the sorting of one column:

  1. Right-click the column header. Select Cancel sorting.

Any other sortings will remain active. For instance, if you cancel the sorting for the first column used to sort the data, the second sorting will automatically become the first sorting.

To cancel the sorting for all columns used to sort the data:

  1. Open the View menu, and then select Cancel list sorting.

Searching for data in sorted list

If you use the search field to search for data, the search starts from the top of the list. The sorting type determines which line is at the top of the list.
