You can use the copy feature to copy records, for example if you are creating records for similar parts. All you have to do then, is to change the field values that are different.
Open the module and then the form from which you want to copy a record.
Select the record you want to copy.
Click to copy the record. This icon can be used on all tabs, with the exception of the List tab. The Data copied for later use dialog box is displayed. This means that a copy has been placed on the clipboard, and that this copy can be used to add new records.
The copy is stored on the clipboard until:
You exit the application, or
You choose No, erase data, or
You make a different (similar) copy. The reason for this is that only one copy can be memorized for each record type, such as 'Part' or 'Customer'. It is possible, however, to copy a customer to the clipboard without the copy of the part being overwritten.
Click OK to close the dialog box.
Click to add a new record. A dialog box will appear.
Choose what you want to do with the data. The copy will remain in the memory for further use, unless you choose No, erase data.
Note: Assign a new code to the record you have added. Codes must be unique, which means the copy cannot have the same code as the original.
