Assign production order code

Run the Assign production order code process to automatically assign a production order code to a production file.

The difference between a production file and a production order is that a production order has been checked and approved for production. Once a production file has been approved, you should promote it to a production order by assigning a production order code to the file. This can be done in two ways:

• Using the Assign production order code process
• By manually entering a production order code in the production file.

If you use the process, the next available code will be assigned to the production file. The code format is defined on the Codes form in the General Settings module.

The advantage of using the process is that the codes will all have the same format.
