Use the Assign and split process to assign cost-plus specification lines to a different debtor, or to distribute them among several debtors.
Assign
You can assign one or more cost-plus specification lines to one other debtor. As a result, the full invoice amounts will be for the account of one other debtor. This process can be executed only if the following conditions are true:
A number of fields are relevant when re-assigning lines to a different debtor.
Fields in the New cost-plus invoicing line data section:
Fields in the Existing cost-plus invoicing line data section:
Split
You can split one or more cost-plus specification lines to allot a particular percentage of the invoice sums to the original debtor, and the remaining percentage to another debtor. You could, for example, assign 60% to the customer and 40% to a dealer. This process can be executed only if the following conditions are true:
Most of the fields that are relevant when assigning lines are also relevant when splitting lines among multiple debtors. Refer to the descriptions under 'Assign' for information about the function of the fields. The 'Debtor share' field is the only field that has a different function when splitting lines.
The 'Debtor share' field in the 'New cost-plus invoicing line data' section allows you to specify the percentage of the invoice sums of the selected lines that should be invoiced to the new debtor. The fields in the 'Existing cost-plus invoicing lines data' section allow you to specify the percentage of the invoice sums to be invoiced to the original debtor.
You can also choose to adjust the quantities or the total sums instead of the percentages. In that case, leave '100%' in both 'Debtor share' fields on the processing form, and manually adjust the quantities or total sums on the cost-plus specification lines you have created. You can do so on the 'List' tab, using the 'Source code' and 'Created' columns. You can sort lines by the 'Source code' column to make sure related cost-plus specification lines are grouped together, and the 'Created' column will tell you how the line was created.
The Source code field is used to sort cost-plus specification lines in a logical manner. Let's assume you run a process to assign the cost-plus specification lines underlying a sales line to a different debtor. As a result of the process being run, 100 new lines are created. For both the original lines and the new lines, you want to see which lines are related. Lines 1 and 101 are both based on the same actual costing line(s), and will therefore be given the same source code. They might have the same part, but different debtors. Lines 2 and 102 are related, lines 3 and 103 are related, etcetera. By sorting on source code, you will always see the related lines grouped together, which gives you a convenient overview and makes it easier for you to make changes.
Note: When running the Assign and split process, new cost-plus invoicing lines are created. The quantity and the price on these new lines are based on the linked actual costing lines (visible on the 'Actual costing' tab). If you have manually changed the price or quantity on the selected cost-plus invoicing lines, or if you have changed the quantity using the 'Split quantity among multiple debtors' process, the 'Assign and split' process may have unexpected results. You need to check these results carefully. You can manually make any corrections required.
