When using key performance indicators, the use of statuses is mandatory. The status indicates whether a KPI can be used. You can define custom statuses, and choose from several status types.
'Provisional' status
The 'Provisional' status is used for KPIs that have not yet been fully defined. This may the case, for instance, when the standard values that serve as benchmarks for the actual values still need to be determined. KPIs with a 'Provisional' status can still be changed. You can change the quantities and sums, and you can add KPI lines.
'Final' status
The 'Final' status is used for KPIs that can be used. The quantities and sums for these KPIs can be changed. Those changes are registered in the Indicator log to enable you to see the changes. Once a KPI has been assigned the 'Final' status, lines can no longer be deleted.
To retrieve the actual values for all KPIs with a 'Final' status at the same time, use the Calculate values for indicators process.
The date on which a KPI was assigned the 'Final' status is entered in the Final date field on the Key performance indicators form.
'History' status
The 'History' status is used for KPIs that are no longer used. The quantities, sums and lines for these KPIs can be changed. It is not possible to use the Calculate values for indicators process to retrieve actual values for KPIs with a 'History' status.
The date on which a KPI was assigned the 'History' status is entered in the Date closed field on the Key performance indicators form.
