A model in a 3D CAD application is a structure comprising separate documents. Each component is saved in a separate document. For each document, you perform the following steps:
Create a new document or open an existing document in the CAD application.
Link the document to the part or engineering item in Isah. To do so, from the integration process, open an Isah form allowing you to select or create an existing Isah item. Once you have selected the item, the document has been linked, and you can use Isah functionality for the Isah item within the CAD application.
Build the model based on linked and unlinked documents. This will create a document structure that is the basis for the calculation in Isah.
Synchronize with Isah from within the CAD application. The model structure is transferred from the CAD application to Isah. A document can be used during synchronization only if it is linked to an Isah item. The Isah bill of material will be filled with contents, quantities, and dimensions. The document properties are transferred from Isah to the CAD application.
Create a 2D drawing of the 3D model (where necessary) and link it to an Isah item. If required, add balloons and a BOM to the drawing.
