Use the Menu items form to add a program or report to the Isah main menu, or to one of the menus in the menu bar. Menu items can be added only to programs of the 'S' (Form) type or the 'M' (Main) type:
When you add a menu item to an 'S' type program, the item will be available in that program from a menu bar menu of your choice. For instance, you could make it available from the Edit menu.
When you add a menu item to an 'M' type program, the item will appear as a module in the Isah main menu, or below the program concerned.
Note: When you add a menu item to an 'S' type program, select the menu bar menu you want to add the item to in the upper-right corner of the screen. The selection field is only available if you are adding menu items to an 'S' type program (a form).
Shortcut keys can be assigned to menu items. Once assigned, users can use them to activate menu items. Valid shortcut keys are:
CTRL+A to CTRL+Z
F1 to F12
CTRL+F1 to CTRL+F12
SHIFT+F1 to SHIFT+F12
SHIFT+CTRL+F1 to SHIFT+CTRL+F12
Note: Always check whether a shortcut key is not already used before you assign it. Some function keys are already in use, and can therefore not be used as shortcut keys.
Instead of a menu item, a line is inserted in the menu. You can use lines to separate different types of menu items.
Parent menu:
A parent menu is a menu that has other menu items. Click the 'Submenu items' button to specify these other menu items. You might want to use parent menus to organize your own reports in a separate submenu.
Report
If you select the 'Report' type, enter the report code in the Report field.
Script
If you select the 'Script' type, enter the script code in the Script field.
This check box is selected for standard Isah menu items. Leave this check box empty if you are adding custom menu items. This ensures that your own menu items will not be overwritten when Isah updates are installed.
The item will not appear in the menu specified until you select this check box. To delete menu items, all you have to do is clear this check box. To re-include an item you removed earlier, just select the check box again.
After you have created a menu item of the 'Parent menu' type (a menu with underlying items), click the Submenu items button to specify the menu items to be included in this parent menu. Clicking the Submenu items button will open the Menu items form on an underlying level.
Submenu items can only be added to menu items of the 'Parent menu' type.
