To integrate a 2D CAD application, such as AutoCAD, with Isah, perform the following steps:
Create a new document or open an existing document in the CAD application.
Link the document to the part, engineering item, or production file in Isah. To do so, from the integration process, open an Isah form allowing you to select or create an existing Isah item. Once you have selected the item, the document has been linked, and you can use Isah functionality for the Isah item within the CAD application.
Manage logistic data from within the CAD application. You can view, specify, or add data relating to the part, engineering item, or production file. These operations require the same rights as in Isah.
Build a BOM in Isah.
Link sizes from the CAD application to dimensions in Isah. After synchronization, the sizes in Isah are the same as those in the CAD application, ensuring that the correct information is added to Isah.
Draw balloons in the CAD application, to make sure the components in the drawing refer to a calculation line in Isah, thereby establishing a link between the BOM and the drawing.
Add a BOM to the drawing. The BOM is composed using BOM data and settings available in Isah. This step is optional.
From the Parts module, add components to the drawing. When choosing components, you can take into account logistic data, such as the currency, price, and price/quality ratio of the part.
Synchronize with Isah from within the CAD application. This process can be started manually or automatically, for example when the document is saved. The BOMs, balloons and document properties will then be updated.
Perform a component check. A check will show you whether any information present in the drawing or in Isah does not match the linked Isah item. This makes it easier to copy a drawing and link it to a new Isah item.
