The role of the application administrator

A user can be appointed as application administrator, so that he or she can perform application administrator tasks, such as managing user accounts and assigning rights to users and user groups in Isah. An application administrator is automatically granted all rights to certain forms.

A user is an application administrator in Isah if this is specified in the user settings and/or in one or more groups of which the user is a member. If the user is considered to be an application administrator in Isah, the Application administrator based on user/group settings check box is selected on the Users form.

Resetting passwords

In previous releases, application administrators were able to use 'sa>' to log in to Isah and reset passwords or create the first database users. The procedure was described in the document 'Logging in without a password'. As the new Application administrator option now provides this functionality, the 'sa>' login method and the document mentioned above are no longer available. See the Help of the Application administrator option on the Users form for information about resetting passwords.
