Run the Change part data process to link an existing object to a different part, or to remove the link between an existing object and a part. To remove the link, deselect the New part code check box. The process applies to the object you have selected on the Objects form, and will affect all data. To apply the changes to other as-built structures, select the Change data in as-built structure check box on the processing form.
A link to a part may be changed only if the object has not yet been included in the logistic process. This is because the combination of object code, part code and revision code in, for example, transaction files, must match the combination registered on the Objects form. To successfully execute the process, the following conditions must be true:
The new part is object-linked.
The object does not exist in:
The stock
The Parts module, Overviews, WIP location
Production modules, such as Production, Transaction files, Part issues
Production module, Transaction files, Part receipts
Production module, Transaction files, Production receipts
Shipping module, Sales offers and orders, Shipping schedule button, if the shipping line has not yet been confirmed as complete
Shipping Module, Shipping notes, Lines button, if shipping note line has not yet been processed
Activate this setting if the object in question is part of one or more as-built structures and you want to update these as-built structures with these new object data.
Select this check box if you are using features that are linked to the object. If you select this check box, the software will check which features are linked to the new part, and to which extent they match the features already linked to the object. All features that have already been linked to the object, but not to the new part, will be removed from the object. This check box is only relevant, however, if the Add part features to service features check box is selected for the object.
