Run the Create objects process to create objects automatically. Objects are unique specimens of parts.
When this process is executed, the following happens:
The object code is determined by the script on the Object tab of the Basic data form. The object code may contain a sequence number. The sequence number is assigned based on the following search path:
The customer is linked to the object if the process is started from the sales order
If the Object check box is selected on the Features form, the service-related features linked to the part are copied to the object. If the process is started from the sales order and a PCF is filled in, also the PCF values will be copied to the object.
For object-linked parts with a 'Stock' origin, objects are, in principle, created upon receipt. If the origin is 'Purchase' or 'Production', you create the objects from within the sales line. The object is then automatically filled in on the shipping line if in the Create objects section, under 'Fill in objects on', you selected Shipping lines. If, however, you still want to create objects from within the sales line if the origin is 'Stock', change the quantity specified in the Create objects section (for 'Stock' origins, the default quantity is '0'). In this case, you need to manually fill in the object on the shipping line.
Note: The operation is available only if the part was configured as an object-linked part (the Object-linked option is set to 'Yes, create automatically').
