The preferred values entered here are displayed when a ledger line is entered. In this case, you have the option to enter a different value. The required entry of a value and the entry of a preferred value are two separate processes: even in the absence of a preferred value, you can still make the entry of a value compulsory and, if such entry is not required, you can enter a preferred value.
