Character Sets

The banks do not permit all characters in the XML files. This could potentially cause problems, particularly with payment references. In order to avoid problems, Isah checks the characters entered in the payment details as soon as the XML file is created, and changes these characters if necessary.

The most frequently used special characters in the Dutch language are:

Isah deletes the diacritical marks from these letters, so that they can be imported into the XML format in a simplified format. Any other special characters not permitted by the banks are replaced with a question mark.
