. If two companies can buy from each other, create two lines.- Use external part numbers: If the purchasing company and the selling company use different part numbers, select the Use external part numbers check box. The purchasing company will use the Supplier part code field on the purchase order to identify the part they are buying. Isah will then use that part code on the sales line for the selling company. When the selling company adds lines to the sales order, they use the Customer part code field on the sales line to identify the part. If during the creation of purchase invoices a part code was used that is unknown to the purchasing company, Isah will not create the invoice line. The log will show a message saying that the line must be added manually.
In general, this procedure is needed only if the companies are using different databases without the replication server.
- Transaction database: If the purchasing company and the selling company are using different databases, specify the database that is used for exchanging data.
- Warehouse location from transaction: For each line, indicate whether Isah should copy the warehouse and location codes from the shipping note when receipt lines are created. You could use this field, for example, if the selling company is located on the same premises as the purchasing company and you are using a work-in-progress location. In those situations, the goods are generally not moved, but you will need a shipping note in order to create the invoice.
If you do not select this check box, Isah will copy the purchase warehouse and the purchase location from the Parts form during the creation of the receipt lines. Isah will also do so if the check box is selected, but the warehouse code and/or location code are not known at the purchasing company.
- Active: Isah will automatically create sales orders, receipt lines and purchase invoices only if you select this check box.
- Purchasing company: Select the company code for the purchasing company and specify the Isah database in which that company creates purchase orders.
- Selling company: Select the company code for the selling company and specify the Isah database in which that company creates sales orders. Isah uses the Sales type for the sales orders that are created. Create a unique sales type for each purchase/sales relationship.
