The Multicompany add-on allows you to link one Isah database to multiple financial databases.
Multicompany is designed for organizations comprising multiple companies whose processes are interwoven. Multicompany simplifies the exchange of data, for example by making it easier to manage the joint use of stock, machines, employees, etcetera.
Companies are created in Isah, and a link is created with base files, such as sales types and part groups. The control policy for ledger accounts remains unchanged. Journal entries are created in the usual way. To be able to export journal entries, you need to start a process that assigns databases to journal lines. During the setup, you define how the databases are assigned.
Sometimes the lines of one journal entry are exported to different databases. In that case, for the purpose of cross-charging between the companies, additional journal lines will be created during the assignment of the databases.
Example
Parts are issued from stock to a production order. This creates the following journal entry:
Work in progress
to Stock of raw materials
The journal line for the work in progress is assigned to Company A, because that is the company that has agreed the order with the customer. The journal line for the stock is assigned to Company B, the owner of the stock.
Multicompany assigns a database to the journal lines. Because not all lines of the journal entry are assigned the same database, additional lines are created for the purposes of cross-charging between the companies.
