You can organize ledger accounts into convenient account groups. For example, you could create the 'Liquid assets' group for all ledger accounts for cash in hand and cash at bank. If you are using financial reports, account groups are required to be able to display data in chart form.
You can fill in the account group in the ledger during day book entry as part of the central data or the company/fiscal year data.
