How can you post payment differences in Isah Finance?

The amount of a bank statement line may differ from the invoice amount, for example if you have sent a customer a $500 invoice subject to a 1% payment discount, and the customer therefore pays $495. In that case you can choose to post the payment difference to a differences account. When the invoice is paid, you can immediately enter the discount in the appropriate cash/bank day book:

  1. Select the invoice in the cash/bank day book.
  2. Enter the $495 you have received on the line.
  3. Click the Payment Difference button and choose 'Payment Difference'. You can also choose another method to deal with payment differences.
  4. If required, use the Column Chooser to display the difference amount in the list.

The relevant postings are made when the bank statement is being processed. The invoice is marked as paid and $5 is posted to the Payment Differences account.

Tip: You are recommended to check for open items with payment differences on a regular basis. Process the differences by following the steps described above.
