Overview Of The Settings Tab

Item

Description

Client time out

Specifies how many minutes a client can be idle before the client is automatically logged off. The Isah License Server will release a license after its time-out expires, so that the license can be used for other users trying to log on. The Client time out functions with the Always check client time out check box. See Configure The Time-Out Settings.

If you specify '0', the Isah License server will not use time-outs. It is recommended, however, that you set the time-out to half a day (240 minutes) or an entire day (480 minutes).

Always check client time out

Specifies whether the Isah License Server should verify whether any licenses are available for release at specific intervals. These intervals can be set in the Client time out field. If this field is disabled, the Isah License Server will only check whether a license can be released if the maximum number of available licenses is reached and the license server receives an additional request for a license. See Configure The Time-Out Settings.

It is recommended that you disable this check box so that the verification is only carried out when the maximum number of concurrent users is reached.

Exclude button

Specifies the computers that are excluded from the time-out function, for example the batch server that runs processes that should continue. If you wish to enter one or more computers, please type the exact names that are used in the Windows Network. The button is only available if the value in the Client time out field is greater than 0.

See Configure The Time-Out Settings.

Old password

If you wish to change an existing password, you must first type the old password. If you have not yet set a password, you can leave this field blank.

See Password-Protect The License Server.

New password/Confirm new password

If you wish to change your password, type your new password in both fields. After changing your password, the message 'Password changed' will be displayed. See Password-Protect The License Server.

Support for legacy databases

Use this setting if you need to connect to both the Isah 4.5 MS SQL database or higher and the Isah 4.0 Sybase ASE database.

See Work With MS SQL And Sybase ASE Databases.
