Synchronize

An important step in the engineering process is the synchronization of the engineering BOM in the CAD or PDM application with the production calculation in Isah, either by using engineering items or a part calculation. Engineering BOMs can be copied in various ways, but the most common ways are to:

• Copy the entire engineering BOM with the same structure. The engineering BOM and the production calculation of parts will then be identical.
• Copy the exploded engineering BOM, creating a production file with a flat structure and phantoms.
• Copy those parts of the engineering BOM that contain long lead-time items, enabling the purchasing and production departments to start their work on the basis of a production file.
• Copy and merge the identical items of the engineering BOM in one production file.
