Run the Release part revision process to approve a part revision. When a revision is released, various automatic checks are performed. The revision will only be released if the following conditions are true:

• All underlying part calculation lines have at least one released revision.
• The start date of the revision to be released is not before the start date of the previous revision.
• All lines have a valid start and end date. This means that the start date must match the start date of a revision, and that the end date of the line must match the end date of a revision.

When a line is released, the following changes are made:

• The Released check box on the Part revisions form is selected.
• The start date of the revision to be released will be the date you have entered during the release.
• The end date of the previous revision will be the specified start date - 1 day.
• The start date of the part calculation lines that only belong to the revision to be released will be equal to the start date specified.
• The end date of the lines belonging to the previous revision, but not to the revision to be released, will be the specified start date - 1 day.
