Use the Agents form if you are working with Commission master data. Intermediaries, dealers, etcetera are registered on the Agents form. Use the Commission types form to define the types of remuneration structures to be used for these agents, for example a turnover percentage or a fixed sum per sales order.
Tip: You can use Commission master data with or without scripts. If you use Commission master data without scripts, you can only register data about sales made through third parties. If you do use scripts, you can have various components steered automatically. The most obvious scripts are scripts used to automatically fill in the sum an agent is entitled to in the sales or invoice line. For example, you could use a script to have the commission sums calculated monthly, but you could also use a script to automatically create and post a purchase invoice for the agent.
Use this field to specify the commission type applicable to the agent (the remuneration structure). Once you have selected a commission type, some of its data are retrieved from the Commission types file, such as the commission sum and percentage. You can modify these default values for the current agent.
If you want to use Commission master data in combination with scripts, use this field to specify the script that should be used for this agent. For example, you could use a script to specify the commission calculation method to be used for the agent, such as a calculation based on orders posted, turnover invoiced, or quantities sold.
Once you have entered a commission type on the Agents form, this field will retrieve the default value for this commission type from the Commission types file. You can modify the default value if you want to use another value for this agent.
If you are using a fixed remuneration structure for agents, you can specify a fixed commission sum in this field.
