Fields
You can enter a description for each synchronization you perform. A description will allow you to retrieve synchronization information at a later time, such as all messages created during a particular synchronization. By default, the Description field contains the date and time of the synchronization, but you can also enter the reason for the synchronization, for example.
If you select the corresponding check boxes, then memos, texts and documents will be transferred during synchronization. The table below show how the settings affect the production file and the production calculation.
Check box selected |
Production file |
Production calculation lines |
Memo |
Engineering item memo overwrites production file memo. |
- |
Texts |
Engineering item texts are copied to the production file only if the text type/language combination does not exist in the production file. This combination may exist only once. If engineering item text has been deleted, the corresponding text in the production file will be retained. |
- |
Documents |
Documents linked to an engineering item are also linked to the production file. If the link was deleted for the engineering item, it will be retained for the production file. |
Documents linked to an engineering BOM line are also linked to the production calculation line. If the link was deleted for the engineering BOM, it will be retained for the production calculation line. |
You can choose to synchronize a BOM without underlying production files (single-level) or with underlying production files (multi-level). When making this choice, you should take the following into account:
