This shows the project lines that have a successor relationship with the line selected on the Project lines - planning form. Successors cannot be project lines of the type 'Plan group' or 'Costs'.
You can create successors by dragging a predecessor to a successor in the Gantt chart. The place from which you drag the item and the place where you drop the item together determine the relationship type:
Finish-to-start relationship – Drag the second half and drop it on the first half.
Finish-to-finish relationship (only for projects) – Drag the second half and drop it on the second half.
Start-to-start relationship (only for projects) – Drag the first half and drop it on the first half.
It is not possible to drag an item from the first half and drop it on the second half. To undo successor relationships, repeat the linking operation.
You can also set successors by adding lines to the Successors form using the button.
Select the successor in this field. The successor's structure code is now filled in automatically. The structure code is a string consisting of the project code, followed by the line numbers of the project lines, separated by a period.
If some sections of the linked project lines are executed simultaneously, you can display the overlap between the lines. The overlap is expressed in days or as a percentage. An overlap allows you to start a subsequent activity before the predecessor activity has fully completed. The overlap is calculated in relation to the predecessor's lead time and is rounded up to full days.
Notes:
You can only use an overlap percentage if the successor type is 'Finish-to-start'. For start-to-start relationships and finish-to-finish relationships, an overlap can only be specified in days.
If you express the overlap time as a percentage, it cannot be negative. The overlap in days can be negative, however. A negative overlap in days will result in a delay in the planning.
