Checking rights to custom tabs

Use the Check rights to custom tabs process to check whether users can use personal custom tabs to access fields from tabs to which they do not have rights. Such fields can be removed from personal custom tabs by using this process.

If rights change, fields may appear on a personal custom tab that originate from a tab to which the user no longer has rights. This means that the user will no longer have access to the original tab, but will still be able to use its fields on his or her own custom tab. Run the Check rights to custom tabs process to identify and solve these issues.

Checking

The place from which you run the process determines for which users and tabs the rights are checked:

Following the execution of the process, you will see a list of all fields on personal custom tabs to which the users no longer have the appropriate rights.

Removing fields from custom tabs

To remove the fields that should not be available on a personal custom tab:

  1. Select all fields to be removed from personal custom tabs.
  2. Click the OK button.

Tip: Click the Batch button to run the process as a batch command. All fields found will now automatically be removed from the personal custom tabs.
