Price lists

Use price lists to define sales, purchase and/or calculation prices. When defining a price list, you choose whether to specify a discount sum, a discount percentage, or a fixed sum. You can also graduate prices based on quantity. When creating a price list, you can also use scripts to have prices calculated automatically. Prices or discounts can be applied to a single part or to a part group.

Price agreements with a customer or supplier that are based on the quantity or total value of purchases made in a particular period must be laid down in a contract (sales contract or purchase contract). Other price agreements can be registered in price lists.

Any price lists you register can be used at several levels. For example, to link a sales price list to a:

• Specific customer/supplier: On the Customers form or Suppliers form, link the price list to a customer or supplier.
• Customer or supplier group: On the Customer and supplier groups form, link the price list to the customer or supplier group.
• Common setting, so the sales price list will apply for everyone: Use the Basic data form in the General Settings module.

To define price lists, complete the following steps:

1. Add the price list on the Price lists form, and enter general price list details, such as code, description and price list type.
2. Specify price list definitions: specify the currency, the start date,and a discount (if applicable).
3. Define pricing scale types: Specify the part or part group the price list applies to, and indicate whether you are using a discount percentage or a particular price.
4. Define pricing scales: Specify the quantities the defined prices or discounts apply to.

Note: Sales price lists are defined in the basic data of the Customers module or the Sales module; purchase price lists are defined in the basic data of the Suppliers module or the Purchase module; calculation price lists are defined in the basic data of the Parts module.
