Conservations

Conservations refer to the way in which you want purchase parts to be delivered by the supplier, such as 'Blasted' or 'Painted'. Conservations therefore take place before the purchase parts are delivered to you.

For parts subject to conservation, use the Conservation field on the Calculation/production tab to enter the conservation required.

If you include a conserved part in the calculation, the conservation costs will automatically be added to the cost price of the finished product. The costs are calculated using the rate details registered for the conservation.

Note: Isah distinguishes between conservations and external operations. External operations are carried out during, and are part of, the production process. Conservations are carried out by the supplier supplying the purchase part before the actual production process starts.

This refers to the costs charged by the supplier to conserve one unit. The unit is shown in the Rate per field. The rate is expressed in your company's default currency.

When performing calculations, the conservation costs of a part are calculated on the basis of the part usage and the rate.

This is the unit to which the conservation rate applies (see the Rate field). The field can have three values:

Unit:	This is the unit filled in on the General tab of the part to which the conservation has been or is being assigned.
Weight (kg)
Surface area (m2)

Note: If you record a conservation rate in kilograms or square meters, a weight or surface value must have been entered for the part to which this conservation applies in the Parts module. Otherwise, the corresponding rate cannot be calculated.
