Run the Confirm sales line process to register that the parts on a sales line have been shipped. As a result, the Sales line complete check box on the Specification tab of the sales line will be selected. All underlying shipping lines will then automatically be confirmed as complete as well.
Note: If you use the Unconfirm sales line process to clear the check box, the confirmation of the shipping lines will not be undone.
Upon the last shipment on the sales line, both the shipping lines and the sales line must be confirmed as complete.
When a sales line has been reported ready, you cannot ship any more parts for the sales line. For example, if you have created three shipping lines for three shipments, and after two shipments it appears that the third shipment is no longer required, you can use the Confirm sales line process to prevent the third shipment from being made.
The Specification tab allows you to check whether and when each sales line has been confirmed as complete. If you still want to ship parts, you first have to clear the Sales line complete check box on the sales line. To clear the check box, run the Unconfirm sales line process from the Edit menu.
Consequences of confirming sales lines as complete
Confirming a line as complete has the following consequences:
Confirm sales lines as complete
If you have not shipped any parts yet and you want to confirm the sales line as complete as soon as the shipment has been made, proceed as follows:
The Confirm sales line after creating shipping note check box on the left-hand side of the form is now selected, and the Date field is filled with the system date. This indicates that the entire sales line will be confirmed as complete once the shipping note has been created.
Once the shipping notes have been created, the Sales line complete field on the left-hand side of the form will be filled with the values from the fields on the right-hand side. No more shipments can be made now.
Unconfirm sales line
Run the Unconfirm sales line process from the Edit menu to enable shipments again.
