File profiles

In general, production calculations are used in Isah. To use another production cross-section, however, you can choose Profiles. Profiles are mainly used for construction supplies and give you a picture from a delivery point of view instead of from a production point of view.

Example

If the components of a delivery are related because they are combined during the assembly, you can use profiles to register this relationship. Profiles are linked to the sales order; for each sales order, you can register various profiles and their quantities. You can build a profile from one or more part calculation lines from the production files in the sales order.

Profiles are merely informative and do not impact processes such as production planning or shipping.

Quantity check

As the profiles are entered and built, the quantities are checked. Depending on the setting of the Profile quantity check field on the Profiles tab of the Basic data form, the process is as follows:

  • Proportional:

When the profile quantity is changed, also the quantities on the original calculation lines are automatically changed for all underlying profile lines. The quantities required for the profile lines are always made to match the quantities of the original calculation line. With this setting, the quantity specified on the calculation line cannot be changed if the calculation line is linked to a profile line.

  • Ask:

If the quantity of the profile changes, for each calculation line you will be asked whether the quantity in the original calculation is to be modified. You will be asked this question for each profile line. If you answer "No", the profile and calculation line quantities will differ. In this case, you are responsible for the correct quantities.

  • Ignore:

No quantities are checked. If the profile quantity changes, the quantity in the original calculation is not automatically modified. In this case, you are responsible for the correct quantities in the original calculation.
