0124 Sales offers and orders for shipping - Commission

The Commission tab is relevant if you are working with commission master data. Once you have entered the customer on a sales offer or order, some data will be filled in by default, including the agent specified for the customer concerned on the Customers form in the Customers module. The agent is the person making the sales to the customer on your behalf. If you want, you can select a different agent. The agent specified in the sales offer or order is the default agent used on sales lines.

At the bottom of this tab, the commission (the remuneration structure) applicable to this agent is displayed.

You can use commission master data with or without scripts:

• If you do not use scripts, you can only register data relating to sales made through third parties.
• If you do use scripts, a large number of actions can be executed automatically. The most obvious scripts are scripts used to automatically fill the sales or invoice line with the sum an agent is entitled to. For example, you could use a script to have the commission sums calculated monthly, or you could use a script to automatically create and post purchase invoices for the agent.
