Create plan group lines

If plan groups are used in the linked orders, run the Create plan group lines process to create project lines based on the plan groups used in the orders. For each plan group type, one project line of the 'Plan group' type is created immediately below the project.

If there are one or more linked order lines without a plan group, a single project line of the 'Unknown' plan type is created for the plan group. This will only work, however, if you have manually created a plan group of the 'Unknown' plan type.

Project lines based on plan groups can be used to gain a high-level overview of the project costs, and to gain insight into the turnover. The information is retrieved from the following order lines:

• Sales lines: Costs or turnover
• Periodic invoice lines: Turnover
• Part lines in production file: Costs
• Operation lines in production file: Costs
• Equipment lines in production file: Costs
• External operation lines in production file: Costs

You determine for each plan group type which type of project line is applied. To update the data on plan group lines, run the Calculate units, costs and revenues process.

Creating plan groups is only possible if the Link type field for the selected project line is set to 'Sales offer/order'.
