Use the Calculate capacity feature to calculate the capacity for capacity groups. Once the capacity has been calculated, it can be used to schedule production orders. If the capacity for a capacity group has not been set and calculated, no schedule can be generated for the period in question.

Note: Before you can calculate the capacity groups with the Calculate capacity feature, one or more capacity lines must have been specified for the relevant capacity groups. The reason is that the definition of capacity is a two-step process: first you specify the capacity for the capacity group (click the Capacity lines button), and then you calculate this capacity using the Calculate capacity option. Without any capacity lines present, no calculations can be made.

The calculation result is shown in the Information menu of the capacity group. There are two ways of viewing the calculated capacity:

• Choose Calculated capacity to view the calculated capacity in the calendar, or
• Choose Capacity graph to display a graph of the calculated capacity.
