Average purchase price

The Average purchase price form lists all recalculations of the average purchase price of parts for which the stock valuation method is 'Average purchase price' (APP).

The information listed includes:

• The part in question
• The old average purchase price (APP)
• The new APP
• The date the change was made

The form shows information about both manual changes, and any changes made using the Mass modify prices process.

When you open the form, you will see one line for each part, including information about the most recent APP calculation. You can also use the selection options on the left side of the form to display historical calculations. For each line, you will see all information relating to the APP calculation, including:

• The origin of the APP calculation. This is shown in the Type column. Examples are 'APP calculation on receipt based on purchase price', 'APP calculation on receipt based on purchase invoice price', and 'Stock quantity change'. The last example does not result in recalculation of the APP, but it is registered. After all, a new calculation must be based on the correct quantity in order to result in a weighted average.
• The code of the part for which the calculation has been made
• The prices and quantities used in the calculation
• References to the purchase order or purchase invoice
• Old and new APP
