Process shipping notes

The processing of shipping notes is the last step in the shipment registration process.

Conditions

Before processing shipping notes, you should check whether the quantities actually delivered match the quantities shown on the shipping note. Correct the quantities on the shipping note if required. Existing shipping notes must be processed permanently before invoices can be created.

Note: Do not process shipping notes until you are sure of the quantity shipped. After processing, the quantities can be changed only by creating a negative shipping note.

Shipping notes can be processed only if they have the 'Printed' print status. Shipping notes will have the 'Printed' status when:

• The shipping notes are printed
• The user assigns the 'Printed' print status to the shipping notes

Results

The Process shipping notes process has the following consequences:

• Any corrections made to the shipping notes are recorded in the stock. The quantity actually shipped serves as the basis for the invoice.
• You are no longer able to modify the quantities on the shipping note.
• The shipping note will be removed from the Shipping notes file.
• The shipping note is transferred to the Processed shipping notes file.
• A line is created on the Invoice recommendations form in the Invoicing module. The actual sales price can still be modified before invoices are raised.
