The integration between Isah Finance and Isah connects logistical and financial processes. Journal entries are automatically transferred from Isah to Isah Finance. You only need to configure a few settings to link the logistic database to the financial database and to ensure that journal entries are recorded in the correct day books.
Settings
To configure the automatic transfer of journal entries, follow these steps:
In Isah, open the Financial module, go to the Basic database data folder, open the Financial databases form, and click to create a new line. Enter the following details:
Logistic database: Specify the logistic database in Isah you want the financial database to link to.
Financial database: Specify the financial database in Isah Finance you want the logistic database to link to.
Active: Select this check box. The form may contain multiple lines with financial databases, but only one line can be active (except if you are using the Multicompany option).
Open the General Settings module > Settings folder > Financial form > Export/import tab, and then select 'Isah Finance' in the Financial application field.
Make sure day books exist in Isah Finance to which the journal entries from Isah can be copied. Go to Central > Day Books, and choose a type of day book, for example 'Sales' for journal entries for sales invoices. Enter the following details on the Central tab:
Blocked for Manual Changes: This check box must be selected. If this check box is not selected, the journal entries cannot be transferred.
Gross Input: You are recommended to select this check box in order to be able to enter gross entry amounts.
To use a separate day book for each journal entry category, perform the following steps in Isah: Open the Financial module > Basic financial data folder > Journal entry categories form. Select a journal entry category, and then choose the day book to be used in the Isah Finance day book field. If you leave this field empty, the software uses the safety net day books specified in the Sales invoices, Purchase invoices and General fields in Isah Finance (go to Central > Settings > Day Books).
During export, the software first checks for a day book that corresponds to the journal entry category. If no day book is found, then the day book defined in Isah Finance is used.
On the Companies form in Isah Finance, select the financial database you want to link to the logistic database. Open the Integration tab, and specify the starting date for transferring journal entries from Isah. (You may do so, for example, if you are migrating from an accounting application to Isah Finance.) Only journal entries with a date equal to or later than the date specified here will be transferred.
Why are journal entries not transferred?
Sometimes journal entries created in Isah are not exported to Isah Finance. In that case, Isah Finance outputs an error message in the Financial Integration Log (accessible from the Central section). The message contains information about the reason for the failed export. Try the suggested solution and release the blocked journal entries by clicking the Release or Release All button. One of the reasons may be that the day book is not blocked for manual posting. You could solve this particular problem as follows:
Go to Central > Day Books, select the day book that should receive the journal entries, and select the Blocked for Manual Changes check box.
Go to Central > Financial Integration Log, and click the Release All button.
The journal entries will now be processed in the day book.
