If you want to analyze the financial results of your holding including all subsidiaries, you can use the Consolidate option. Define the required day book and ledger accounts: the Consolidation day book and the ledger accounts General Reserve, Processed Result and Unprocessed result of previous years. For the holding structure, create a consolidation type and define the structure in a consolidation structure. Every so often, you will run the Consolidate process to post the ledger balances or the results of the subsidiaries to the Consolidation day book. This process takes into account the interest that the holding has in each subsidiary and the operating currency used by the holding.
If you selected the consolidation method 'Ledger', the journal lines of the subsidiaries will be summarized by fiscal period. The summarization level can be specified when you execute the Consolidate option: you can summarize the journal lines by ledger, or you can summarize them by cost center or cost category within the ledger. To analyze the details of the summarized journal entry, you can display the journal lines of a subsidiary via the ledger card on the Subsidiary journal entry (Ledger card) tab as well as via the journal on the Subsidiary journal entry (Journal) tab. To see the costs and revenues of a holding that has subsidiaries, open the Holding overview in the Profit & Loss financial report.
