Use the Financial databases form to register the financial databases you are using. This step is required if Isah is linked to a financial application.
For some financial applications, you need to create just one database. For other financial applications, you may have to create a new financial database for every new fiscal year. Refer to the documentation supplied with your financial application for more details.
Note: You need to register at least one active financial database before you can export journal entries.
Use this field to specify the Isah database from which you are exporting the financial data, for example 'ProductionDB'. This setting will be checked during the export, and only data from this database will be transferred to the selected financial application. This check prevents anyone from accidentally transferring data from a test database to your financial application during testing.
The user name and password you can enter on this form are used for the Export journal entries process. To export the journal entries, this process must be able to log in to the financial database, and these fields allow you to define the login details. You are recommended to at least leave the Password field on the Financial databases form empty. If it is left empty, a login screen will appear when you execute the Export journal entries process, allowing you to enter the password. This is the safest method of working, as the financial data password will not be physically stored anywhere.
However, if you export the journal entries as a batch, for example overnight, you do need to enter the password here. If you do not, the batch process will not be able to execute successfully.
