Units/costs tab

The Units/costs tab, which is available on the Projects, Project lines - planning and Project lines - financial forms, has been modified. Some of the old fields have been removed, and new fields have been added. The changes provide flexible methods for calculating the progress of your project, in order to give you more control of your project.

The changes include:

• The fields in the Project lines columns have been removed.
• The following fields have been removed:
  • Permitted
  • Period revenue to invoice
  • The 'Calculation type' drop-down list box
  • The 'Expected based on' drop-down list box.
• Some new fields have been added. The Units form section now has the following new fields:
  • Progress percentage (in the Estimate and Order information columns)
  • Forecast(in the Estimate and Order information columns)
  • Result forecast(in the Estimate and Order information columns)
• Both form sections now have a new summation feature (S). If you enable this feature, the field is filled automatically with the sum of the values of the corresponding fields in the lines immediately below. The summation feature is available to the right of the following fields:
  • Units > Estimate > Budget
  • Units > Estimate > Preliminary costing
  • Order information > Estimate > Budget
  • Order information > Estimate > Preliminary costing
  • Order information > Estimate > Sales sum
• You can now choose to calculate the progress based on costs or based on units. You can set your choice in the Progress based on field.
• Use the Progress input field field to set the field you want to use to enter your own progress estimate. Your choice in the Progress based on field takes precedence over the 'Progress input field' setting. This field has three options: 'Progress percentage', 'Expected' and 'Forecast'. If you choose 'Costs' in the Progress based on field, for example, and then choose 'Forecast' in the 'Progress input field' field, the input field will be the Costs forecast field under Costs and revenues.

  Because of this combination of choices, there are six possible input fields:

Only one of these six fields can be changed at a time. The field you have selected from the foregoing options is the only field of the six that can be changed. The other five fields will be filled based on the figure you enter in the input field. This allows you to calculate the progress in ways that give a more accurate picture of your business.
