The Possible variables form lists all predefined variables for use in flexible search paths. Variables are the building blocks of flexible search paths. The form shows the following information for each variable:
Input variables have the function of key field in regular tables. These variables are available when building the search path for the application. For example, when a price depends on the part and the customer, you will define the 'Part' and 'Customer' variables. These codes can then be filled in afterwards. In this case, the 'Part' and 'Price' variables are of the 'Key field from system table' type, because these values must be present in Isah.
Output:
Output variables have the function of columns in regular tables. For example, you will use the 'Price' variable when a price depends on the part and the customer.
This check box indicates how the variable will be used in the search path. If this check box is empty, the variable will only need a value (start value), such as a customer code, object group, or equipment code.
If this check box is selected, the range will have a start value and an end value. This check box only applies to times. For example, it allows you to use 'Commercial hourly rates', 'Time from' and 'Time to' in application 1.
